Canadian Bishops Write to Government Leaders

Members of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops recently wrote to federal government officials regarding two issues:

1) The proposals of the federal Standing Committee on Finance to change eligibility criteria for charitable status – this letter can be accessed here.

2) The recently-concluded “national consultation” on expanding Medical Assistance in Dying (“MAiD”) in view of introducing advance requests. This letter can be accessed here.

It is both important and necessary for religious leaders to respectfully express their concerns on issues that have a profound impact on the life of Canadians.
